About TAQELAH

TAQELAH stands for Test Automation & Quality Engineering, Lah! — a name that blends technical excellence with Singaporean charm.

What Does “Lah” Mean?

If you’ve spent any time in Singapore, you’ve definitely heard “lah” — it’s a friendly, expressive word that adds warmth and personality to our speech. At TAQELAH, we embrace that same spirit of friendliness and inclusivity in everything we do.

Our Story

What started in 2017 as the Singapore Appium Meetup has now evolved into TAQELAH — a thriving community for testers, and automation enthusiasts passionate about quality engineering. Over the years, we’ve grown into a movement dedicated to lifting up Singapore’s QA ecosystem.

Our Impact

TAQELAH has hosted 50+ meetups and welcomed 50+ speakers from across the globe — sharing insights, innovations, and practical learnings in test automation, AI testing, and quality culture. From grassroots sessions to corporate collaborations, we’ve built bridges across Singapore’s tech landscape.

Our Goals

  • Elevate Singapore’s QA and test automation standards through collaboration and learning.
  • Inspire and nurture young engineers to explore careers in quality engineering.
  • Build a quality-first culture across tech teams and organizations.
  • Provide a welcoming community for testers of all backgrounds and experience levels.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to grow, our vision remains simple — to make Singapore a global hub for Test Automation and Quality Engineering excellence. Join us in our journey to uplift the QA craft, one meetup and one conversation at a time.
